About the Role
As part of an established Academic Liaison Librarians team, you will support students and staff by providing subject-specific digital and information skills training, promoting and reviewing library resources, and offering 1-to-1 student sessions and enquiry support. You will develop strong working relationships between the Library and designated departments, supporting various courses within the Guildhall School of Business and Law. Knowledge of law, politics, international relations, and languages is beneficial but not essential.
Library Services is dedicated to delivering high quality and innovative support for learning, teaching, and research. The team is passionate about placing library services at the heart of the student experience, embracing emerging technologies, and continuously developing skills to evolve services that meet the needs of students and colleagues.
Experience
Experience working with students or staff in educational settings through teaching, delivering workshops, or providing guidance and support is essential. Experience in a library liaison role is desirable but not required.
About you
You are a proactive and confident individual, either a qualified librarian or someone with relevant teaching, training, or academic support experience looking to progress into a library liaison role. You are a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to think creatively and laterally. You are passionate about supporting students and seek innovative solutions to challenges. You understand the pivotal role of a library in a university’s learning community and have awareness of emerging digital developments and their implications for learning, teaching, and research.
Qualifications
Qualified librarian status is desirable but not essential. Relevant experience in education, training, or academic support will be considered.
