The Halley Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hard-working Administrator to join us from September 2024. The successful candidate will have previous experience in developing and maintaining administrative systems and processes as well as exceptional verbal and written communication skills . A keen eye for detail is a must, particularly with the use of grammar and spelling. You will be proactive, use your initiative, work flexibly, and be adept at building positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience in an education environment and a working knowledge of BromCom would be advantageous. Teamwork is central to this role and it is a shared desire to support staff and students. As a member of the administrative team, the Administrator will be expected to work across the full range of administrative support requirements needed in a busy and diverse school office environment. Examples of which are as follows but not exhaustive: to assist with senior management requirements promptly to input data onto BromCom to answer and respond accordingly to phone calls and emails to carry out reception duties when the receptionist is on her lunch break ensuring queries are swiftly redirected to the correct member of staff to be responsible for departmental photocopying and ordering stationery to produce letters, reports and other notes and correspondence as required, using a variety of software applications including email and mail merge to provide office support under the management of the Administrative Manager who will prioritise and allocate tasks/pieces of work to undertake first aid training and provide first aid support as required, carry out first aid equipment checks to run and administer our student stationery shop to keep up to date with all the policies and procedures of the school as they impact on this post or as they impact all employment matters Experience in using up-to-date Information and Communication Technology systems such as Google, including MS Word and Excel Are willing to be flexible in the tasks undertaken. The post is a full-time position, 35 hours per week, 52 weeks a year. During term time, the start time for this role will be 7.45am.
