Archive Project Cataloguer – Émigré Arts Archive II
Tate Gallery
£30,848
Full-time
Description
Do you have experience of cataloguing large and complex archive collections, and preparing material for digitisation, and would you like to join a friendly, supportive and dedicated team as a Project Archive Cataloguer at Tate?
In this full-time (36 months) role you will be the Project Cataloguer with responsibility to arrange, catalogue and package the archives of four émigré artist and art world figures: Anton Ehrenzweig, Josef Herman, Halima Nacelz (Drian Galleries) and Ewan Phillips making selections for digitisation as the project progresses.
People might notice how calm and focussed you appear while working under pressure, how you prioritise activities, and use available resources to ensure tasks are completed to deadline. Are you also a person adept at managing their own workload and ensuring accuracy and attention to detail, at all times, while working to agreed standards?
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills will be at the forefront of your working ethos. As this role will involve working flexibly and effectively, with the Archive Project Manager and the Archivist, and as part of the wider Library & Archive team, are you the sort of person who is used to working with people, being collaborative and solutions focussed?
If you also have a passion for making archives more accessible, this might be the perfect role for you as it will involve identifying and preparing items for related Tate films, the opportunity to support and take part in a symposium and assist in the realisation of a major display in the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Archive Gallery at Tate Britain.
It goes without saying that you’ll have relevant experience of delivering excellent customer service as the role will participate in the delivery of research services to staff and external researchers. Finally, we are looking for someone who can help to create a working environment that encourages equality, diversity and inclusion for all.
This position is offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years
