About the Role
Gateway Housing Association has been supporting communities to thrive since 1926. We are an ambitious London-based housing association with over 3,000 homes in the heart of London's East End, providing social rented homes, shared ownership, and sheltered housing. We are currently delivering an exciting programme to build another 250 homes by 2025 and operate our own in-house maintenance service, Gateway Homeworks. You will join at an exciting time as a key member of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering excellent landlord services and strengthening community links.

We are seeking a Compliance Manager to ensure Gateway Housing meets all statutory landlord compliance obligations, including gas safety, water safety, asbestos, electrical safety, fire safety, and lift/LOLER requirements. You will administer the delivery of a high-quality responsive service ensuring all mechanical and electrical services, systems, and installations fully comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and Accepted Codes of Practice.

Key Accountabilities
- Monitor and plan servicing programmes and plans of work relating to statutory health and safety compliance, ensuring timely delivery and all necessary certification is in place
- Manage and monitor contractors to ensure delivery against specifications and budgets, leading reconciliation activities to ensure data accuracy
- Verify completed works and their quality, overseeing or conducting post inspections to confirm contractual compliance
- Develop and maintain a compliance framework across all organisational operations
- Stay updated on corporate, regulatory, and legislative changes and advise management on business implications
- Support the review of Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies and procedures
- Assist in budgetary control by monitoring and reporting expenditure, liaising with suppliers on costs, and reconciling contractor invoices regularly

Requirements

Experience
- Senior management experience with extensive Health and Safety expertise
- Proven experience in compliance or risk management roles
- Experience in collaborative senior leadership, leading teams to monitor, develop services, and deliver change
- Strong knowledge of UK housing legislation and compliance requirements

- Analytical and logical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strategic thinker with experience in policy creation and delivery
- Ability to demonstrate comprehensive working knowledge of compliance, practical enforcement, and wide expertise across all property compliance aspects

Qualifications
- Holder of a Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH
