Description
At Beam, you get to do work that really matters. We’re solving the world’s toughest social problems. And we’re growing fast 🚀
It’s not easy. Nothing worth doing ever is. But we take care of everyone who works here with everything from coaching to personal budgets and pay highly competitively.
You’ll be joining a company that’s having a huge impact on people’s lives with a culture where you can be yourself, have fun and progress rapidly.
About the role
Beam supports homeless people, refugees and prison leavers to access stable employment and their own homes. Our work is only possible because of our partnerships with Local Government, who commission Beam to support local communities and ultimately save taxpayer funds.
Leading Sales and Customer Success for the flagship of Beam’s business, Local Government, you’ll play a leading role during the most exciting year yet for the business.
Working hand in glove with Beam’s Senior Team, you’ll lead the work to simultaneously grow the number and value of Local Government deals, whilst pivoting towards new services that set us up for long-term stability and success.
This role is for a deeply strategic commercial leader, able to lead a team through a period of significant change and ambiguity, bring clarity to complex problems, and steer Beam towards true scale.
The legacy will be not just a world-class team with a sustainable business model, but the millions of disadvantaged people whose lives Beam will go on to change.
We are primarily looking for someone happy to take on a fixed term contract (as a maternity cover), with the potential for a permanent commercial role.
You’ll be
Expanding Beams footprint - through a mix of renewals, expansions and new sales you’ll be accountable for a large share of Beam’s customer base and revenue
Delivering a world class service - constantly raising the bar on great customer service, leaving our Local Government customers delighted and impressed with our partnerships
Building a high performance team - leading by example to build a results-driven and supportive culture. The team looks to you as an example of what excellence looks like.
Developing new services - through a deep understanding of council priorities you’ll identify new services Beam could develop, and work with Operations to bring them to life
Running a tight ship with data - you’ll ensure we always have an accurate forecast, are proactively managing risk, and have strong actionable insights to improve sales efficiency
Supercharging how we work - you’re always looking for innovative ways to level up what we do and regularly drive experiments which step-change performance
You are
A proven commercial leader - you’ve successfully led a big commercial team before and have a strong record of achieving growth targets as both an individual and a leader
Results driven - you thrive working towards big targets and relish the opportunity to take on new challenges. You’re excited to roll your sleeves up to make things happen
An inspirational and pragmatic leader - you instil confidence in your team to think creativity about growth opportunities
A natural relationship builder - an exceptionally strong and astute communicator, you can build effective relationships with a wider range of audiences
Action oriented and high adaptable - you’re a natural problem solver able to break down complex problems into simple solutions
Ideal - you have experience working with public sector customers and stakeholders
Success looks like
We’re exceeding our targets - we’re consistently meeting and exceeding growth targets and have a strong long-term pipeline
We have a strong network of happy customers - our strong network of champions, high renewal rates and excellent customer NPS confirm that customers are happy with Beam
The team is high performing, happy and motivated - you’ve built a team of real superstars who feel confident and excited by their work
We understand the customer - we’re continually updating and improving our understanding of customer needs, improving our proposition and our service
We always improving - you proactively identify and drive improvements which ensure Beam grows
