As the Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for leading the planning, delivery and reporting of risk-based and compliance assurance activity within the Health and Welfare (H&W) sub-client group. You will provide assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with Capita group, legal and regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations for external clients. This role plays an essential part of the Risk Assurance and Governance framework by working with local management to drive improvements in the control framework and reduce risk exposure. As an Assurance Lead, you will use your passion for Risk Management to play an important part in ensuring that an appropriate focus is placed on risk mitigation by assessing and reporting on Risks and Controls. What you'll be doing: • Leading the planning, delivery and reporting of risk-based and compliance assurance activities. • Planning and coordination of external audit activity (including any appropriate ISO/quality accreditations) and Group internal audits. • Producing value-add assurance and compliance reporting that assures the effectiveness of internal controls, identifies risk, and provides expert insight. • Ensuring that all control deficiencies and opportunities for improvements are captured with root cause assessment undertaken, and action then allocated and tracked to resolution. • Assisting with regular submissions to the Account and Sector Risk & Assurance Committees and supporting other reporting requirements for the sector/division as required. • Providing independent assurance on projects being undertaken. • Working with a range of stakeholders up to senior level, both internally and externally in the provision of assurance activities and to identify emerging risks and issues. • Working collaboratively with local management and other second line teams, sharing insights and best practice in risk, controls and compliance to drive continuous improvement. What we're looking for: • Experience of leading risk-based and compliance assurance reviews and presenting findings to senior stakeholders. • Strong knowledge of risk and control frameworks and principles, with a good understanding of controls' role, impact, relation to risk, and balance between effectiveness and efficiency. • Demonstrable experience in testing internal controls, identifying control deficiencies, and designing and implementing internal controls. • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience of engaging senior stakeholders and the ability to influence outcomes. • Highly developed communication skills in all mediums. • Ability to manage the delivery of a varied workload to high standards, with previous report writing experience. • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, and the ability to understand and digest complex issues at an appropriate level of depth and identify root causes. • Experience working with data analytics tools to deliver value add insights would be desirable. • A relevant audit/risk management qualification would be advantageous.
