About the Role
Join our mission to protect butterflies, moths and their habitats! We're seeking a passionate individual to support our volunteer leaders across our Branch network during an exciting period of change. In this dynamic and rewarding role, you’ll provide high-quality support to Butterfly Conservation’s regional volunteer branches, helping ensure they run smoothly and are aligned with the charity’s strategy. You’ll deliver first-class customer service, build strong relationships, support training and leadership development, and foster inclusion and collaboration throughout the volunteer network. You'll also help manage Butterfly Conservation’s volunteer management system, contribute to effective communication, and play a crucial role in building a culture of appreciation and support.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Being the first point of contact for volunteer Branch committee members
- Supporting recruitment, induction and ongoing training for key volunteers
- Producing a regular newsletter and developing volunteer resources
- Promoting inclusive practices in volunteer engagement
- Helping volunteers understand and follow policies and procedures
- Supporting collaborative working across regions and celebrating volunteer contributions
- Administering and providing support for the volunteer management system (Assemble)
Experience
Experienced in working with volunteers – ideally in the charity, conservation or environment sectors.

- A strong communicator who can build relationships and inspire others
- Comfortable juggling multiple priorities with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient with digital tools, including databases, spreadsheets, and content platforms
- Committed to inclusion and able to foster diversity in volunteer communities
- Confident developing and delivering training or resources for volunteers or staff
- Driven by a sense of purpose and keen to make a real difference.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required, but relevant experience and skills will be advantageous.
