About the Role
The Caretaker role is essential in contributing to the quality of life for estate residents by maintaining a safe and secure environment. You will ensure that the estate is clean and well-maintained, assisting in preserving the estate's assets. Daily visits to estates will allow you to act as a focal point for information, queries, and complaints, swiftly reporting or resolving issues to the satisfaction of residents. Your responsibilities will include maintaining communal areas, addressing environmental issues such as rubbish and recycling, and being vigilant for the well-being of elderly and vulnerable residents. You will remove health hazards, arrange for prompt graffiti removal, report communal repairs, and work closely with Resident Services and Anti-Social Behaviour Teams to tackle issues. Additional duties include sweeping, litter picking, responding to emergencies, assisting with bulk item clearances, and coordinating targeted estate clearances.
Experience
Experience in a caretaking or maintenance role is preferred but not essential.

You should possess strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to the diverse needs of others. Building and maintaining positive relationships with tenants is crucial, along with being open to new ideas and valuing different perspectives. You must demonstrate good equalities practice and adhere to relevant Health and Safety legislation. The role requires efficient practical cleaning duties, the ability to work independently, plan and prioritize tasks, and meet specific targets. Effective problem reporting and familiarity with IT systems and apps are essential. Teamwork, along with basic numeracy and literacy skills, is necessary to fulfill the responsibilities outlined.
Qualifications
A full manual UK driving license is required for this position.
