Description
Job Title: Casework Coordinator - Ukraine Response Service Job Location: Islington, London hybrid, flexible Hours: 35 per week (Full-time) Salary: £24,372 to £25,787 d.o.e. (Including Market Supplement) based on 35 hours per week (plus ILW if applicable) Contract Type: Fixed Term to October 2024 Could you offer empowering support, advice and advocacy for asylum seekers in London? The Casework Coordinator will work within a local team in the London area. It is part of the Ukraine Response Service providing support to refugees, this will include casework to support clients to access services such as housing, welfare benefits, education, health and all other integration needs. . A day in the life of a Casework Coordinator will involve:
Works with line manager and colleagues to identify and support service development and improvement
Emergency provisions are distributed and resources utilised in line with policies, guidance and procedures
Works with line manager and other departments to ensure future requirements for volunteers are identified within a workforce plan
Volunteers receive effective line management support to enable service delivery
Relevant policies, procedures and good practice are adhered by volunteers to ensure a safe, effective and efficient environment and service delivery in line with agreed standards
Effective processes are in place and followed to allow people with lived experiences to contribute to service delivery, design and development, in line with agreed organisational approaches
Service users have appropriate opportunities to provide feedback on the service which is then used for service improvement.
Referral pathways are effectively utilised and maintained to ensure holistic package of support for service users
Effectively contributes to agreed local awareness raising and advocacy activities, in line with organisational approaches
Provides effective support for service learning and development activities, including delivery of training, in accordance with quality standards and agreed organisational approaches
To be a successful Casework Coordinator, you'll need:
IT literate. Experience of using email, word processing, database and spread sheet packages
Ability to support, manage and develop volunteers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including
Ability to work as part of a team in a high-pressure environment
Ability to provide sensitive, safe, and empowering support to distressed people in vulnerable situations
Ability to speak Ukrainian language (desirable).
Understanding of issues relating to asylum seekers, refugees and other vulnerable migrants
Understanding of the needs led user focused philosophy
Knowledge of the rights and entitlements of asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants and the roles of statutory and non-statutory agencies
Experience of delivering casework with vulnerable clients
