Location: Flexible (There will be a requirement to work from either our London or our Paisley office on a regular basis)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week Salary: Circa £52,000 per annum (plus inner London weighting allowance of £3,344 if applicable)

In this role, you'll take the lead in managing end-to-end procurement strategies in close collaboration with senior stakeholders. Your goal? Ensuring these strategies consistently deliver value and align with our strategic objectives. You'll be handling a broad spectrum of categories, with budgets ranging from £10-20 million and a high level of complexity. You'll also play a key role in strategically sourcing various goods and services. You'll influence supplier management practices to guarantee that every aspect of procurement is conducted professionally, meeting our targets, minimizing risks, and ultimately achieving value for money, cost savings, and efficiency. You will preferably have previous IT experience in procurement.

What will a day in the life of a Category Manager entail? You'll:
Develop and execute robust procurement strategies, emphasizing cost-effectiveness, risk reduction, innovation, and strategic alignment.
Analyse spending trends and future needs, gathering data to identify efficiency opportunities
Lead high-value and complex procurement initiatives and projects, ensuring stakeholder support and timely delivery.
Provide leadership and management for project teams involved in organizational procurement initiatives.
Create, implement, and monitor supplier performance management plans for relevant spending areas.
Offer contract and supplier management expertise, ensuring procurement's involvement in strategic decisions.
Proactively manage risk in BRC's inbound supply chain and assist in developing risk mitigation plans
What will you need to be a successful Category Manager?
Advanced CIPS diploma or equivalent by experience
Previous IT experience in procurement is preferred
Strategic procurement knowledge with ability to develop and execute category strategy in matrix environment
Experience in Strategic sourcing function including strong track record of category management, leadership in value identification and delivery
Demonstrated supportive stakeholder management and ability to influence company wide change for complex spend area
Strong track record of tendering process and alternative market engagement for high value/complex spend areas
Proven experience of Supplier performance management, issue resolution for high value/complexity categories
