About the Role
This role provides an efficient and effective parking enforcement service across the borough car parks. The main objective is to minimise parking contraventions through the issue of penalty charge notices where appropriate, in line with the Council’s objectives, policies, and the Parking Order. The successful candidate will represent Spelthorne Borough Council positively and professionally to residents and customers, ensuring a helpful and polite approach at all times. The role requires a good understanding of Civil Enforcement legislation and procedures and the relevant qualification to carry out Civil Enforcement (Level 2 Award, City and Guilds).
The ability to communicate clearly and confidently in spoken English is essential for this customer-facing role, in compliance with the Code of Practice on English language requirements for public sector workers. The post is subject to a standard Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. Successful candidates will be required to use the Microsoft Authenticator app on their own mobile device to securely access the Council’s network.

Experience
Relevant experience in civil enforcement or a similar role is desirable but not essential, provided the candidate holds the required Level 2 Award in Civil Enforcement (City and Guilds).

Qualifications
Must hold the Level 2 Award in Civil Enforcement (City and Guilds) or equivalent qualification. The role requires compliance with the Code of Practice on English language requirements for public sector workers. A satisfactory standard DBS check is required as part of employment checks.
