Main duties of the job The Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP) will play a key role in ensuring that all research undertaken within the department safeguards the well-being of patients and is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations 2004, and Amended Regulations 2006. In collaboration with other team members, the CRP will facilitate the delivery of high-quality research. The post-holder will work closely with the clinical research administration team, providing both administrative and imaging support for a portfolio of cardiovascular research studies while performing a range of clinical assessments in line with established standards of practice. They will proactively communicate with study and clinical teams to ensure a positive participant experience and strict adherence to study protocols. Responsibilities include completing case report forms, managing site files, implementing amendments, and maintaining study databases. The post-holder will also mentor and support new and junior team members and contribute to quality assurance processes within the team. The CRP will ensure the well-being of participants by adhering to study protocols, relevant regulations, and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), thereby upholding the integrity and quality of the research undertaken. Person specification Qualifications/ Education Essential criteria Degree in life sciences or related field or equivalent theoretical knowledge GCP certification Evidence of CPD Desirable criteria Relevant course to clinical area Previous experience Essential criteria Experience of working in a patient/participant facing role with clinical duties.
