About the role A Consultant plays a critical role in supporting client delivery, in both a PR and Public Affairs capacity. In this role, you will develop and maintain trusted and positive relationships with clients. Consultants pay close attention to detail, providing policy and political knowledge and insight, and considered strategic advice. Further, the Consultant has a valued part to play in Seahorse’s own marketing, such as assisting with social media content and our monthly newsletter. The role is well suited to a strong communicator, with a passion for delivering meaningful change for the environment during this vital post-election period and beyond. You’ll have a willingness to learn and ability to show initiative. You should feel comfortable juggling different topics and priorities and have an enthusiasm for research and getting to grips with developments across a variety of issues. Responsibilities Conducting research and writing briefings for clients Managing client relationships and accounts Monitoring political and policy news to identify opportunities for clients and new business leads Developing political and media strategies Creating social media and marketing content for Seahorse and its clients Contributing to new business proposals and pitches Networking for Seahorse and clients Knowledge, skills and experience Essential At least 2 years’ experience of working in communications and PR with experience delivering work to a high standard for external stakeholders Social media and digital media experience Strong passion and enthusiasm for a net zero and nature positive world Understanding of the environment and decarbonisation landscape Excellent time management Strong written and verbal communication Attention to detail Ability to work as part of a team and show initiative Experience of working with political, media and environmental stakeholders Desirable Marketing experience Project management experience Benefits in kind The role offers benefits including 3 cause days, bike and travel loans, a discretionary bonus at the end of the financial year and flexibility to work abroad for four weeks per year.
