£50,961 - £61,398 pro-rata per annum Part time Permanent CSM - King's Cross, London UK The opportunity University of the Arts London is looking for an experienced Course Leader to join our teaching team on a part time basis. MA Culture, Criticism and Curation is a course directed towards critical enquiry and conscious change-making in the fields of culture, curation, art, design and creative production. It equips graduates with the tools, skills, knowledge and experience to enable them to actively navigate a variety of institutional and cultural fields, contexts and applications. As MA Culture, Criticism and Curation Course Leader, you will provide academic vision and leadership for the course. This is a significant opportunity to shape the next iteration of the course through curriculum development and pedagogic approaches that anticipates the contexts, needs and challenges of future organisations and leadership. As Course Leader, you will lead on the delivery of academic standards. You will help maintain stimulating and nurturing learning and research environments for students and colleagues alike. You will actively link cultures and methods of research to practice, and practice to research. You will help build knowledge exchange initiative and foster industry connections while building on the international reputation of the course and enhance professional, academic and research partnerships. About you You bring leadership experience from higher education and are an experienced innovator and practitioner around curatorial practices. You have a critical perspective on how the curator is positioned as a figure able to act intentionally, bring in agency and make change in a variety of frameworks, within and without the world of the creative industries and the creative economy. You have an internationally acknowledged research standing, evidenced through a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Frameworks. Through your research, you are regarded as an innovator in the area of curatorial practice, with a critical perspective on how organisations are shaped by society and vice versa. With strong communication skills you are an advocate for change and impact within the field of curation. You will have experience of teaching, be active in practice, research and/or scholarly activity and aware of the broad academic and professional contexts relating to the course.
