About the Role
We are seeking a Curriculum Lead who will provide specific curriculum expertise to our teaching teams, model good practice, and assist the Deputy Head of College Region in managing the quality of teaching and learning within the department. This role involves leading a specific curriculum area, supporting curriculum development, allocating resources, and supervising staff to ensure effective, learner-centred teaching that meets the needs of adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will collaborate closely with Carers, Therapists, Social Services personnel, and internal colleagues. Additionally, you will work with the management team to further develop Orchard Hill College as a valuable resource centre for fellow professionals.
Orchard Hill College is an Outstanding Specialist College (Ofsted, November 2019) offering life-changing learning opportunities to young people and adults with a range of special educational needs and/or disabilities. The College operates eight vibrant community-based centres across London and Surrey, delivering tailored programmes to over 400 students. Our students have diverse needs including profound and multiple learning disabilities, communication and behavioural difficulties, and specific medical needs. Each student’s learning programme is designed to support and empower them to achieve their aspirations and goals while developing skills to become more independent members of their community.
Experience
Extensive teaching experience with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Proven experience in leading a team of Lecturers and planning educational programmes. Experience in behaviour support is beneficial.

You will be a strong leader with a thorough understanding of the curriculum and the ability to model good teaching practice. You should be collaborative, able to work effectively with a wide range of professionals including Carers, Therapists, and Social Services personnel. A commitment to learner-centred teaching and supporting students with SEND is essential.
Qualifications
DET/DTLLS or an equivalent teaching qualification is essential.
