Salary: £52,054 - £66,457 per annum inclusive of London Weighting Allowance (Lecturer and Management Pay Scale, Spine Points 19 – 29)
Location: various sites
Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, all year round

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of College to join our work based learning team. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who is responsive to student and staff needs and has a proven record of successful management in an education setting. You will be a key person in developing and improving on what is already in place in our College centres for work based learning Provision and Supported Internships.
As Deputy Head of College, you will have responsibility for the management of the Work based learning provision (which includes Supported Internships and qualifications for the college) in different centres and will work with the Head of College, WBL when setting the strategic direction for the College within the Work Based Learning area.
Orchard Hill College is an Outstanding Specialist College (Ofsted, November 2019) offering life-changing learning opportunities to young people and adults with a range of special education needs and/or disabilities. We have eight vibrant community-based College Centres across London and Surrey where committed, specialist teams deliver a range of programmes to meet the needs of over 400 students.
Students who study with us on our work based learning programmes have a wide range of needs including communication and behavioural difficulties, students who are NEET, students who have learning disabilities. All students are individuals and their learning programme is designed to support and empower them to achieve their aspirations and goals, whilst developing skills to become more independent members of their community. Orchard Hill College is a truly unique and rewarding place to work.
Within this role, you will be responsible for the management of the work based learning curriculum team. This will include working on timetabling, monitoring, mentoring, training, supervision and support of staff, as well as the management of internal communication systems. You will also have responsibility for departmental budgets for agency staff, learning resources and staff development.
You will work under the direction of the Head of College, WBL and the Principal to lead the staff team in the provision of high-quality education within the remit of the policies adopted by governors.
You will need Qualified Teacher Status in Lifelong Learning, good/outstanding experience of teaching students with learning disabilities, and successful management experience.
