Job overview The South Thames Paediatric Network (STPN) is recruiting to a newly created post of Deputy Network Manager. The role will support the STPN leadership team whilst having responsibility for the day-to-day oversight and management of the network’s work programmes. This includes supporting the network team to deliver projects, ensuring a structured and responsive evaluation programme of our work, and reporting to our commissioning organisations. As Deputy Network Manager, the post holder: · will develop and support a dynamic MDT team in delivering an effective service supporting clinicians, managers and staff to manage and lead the STPN work programme · will develop and manage the delivery of the strategic objectives of the programme · will work across healthcare system boundaries to engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders (health, social, education, commissioning) to implement new models of care. The post holder will: · Build, manage and maintain strong and collaborative working relationships · Organise, plan and execute a complex programme that spans a wide range of provider, commissioner and patient organisations · Draft project plans for presentation to the network leadership groups and other forums · Produce and/or contribute to products and reports that will influence research and practice across the scientific area. · Develop metrics for measuring project success and monitoring progress to ensure delivery. · Support the sharing of learning across South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex and potentially further afield. · Deputise for the STPN Network Manager Working for our organisation The South Thames Paediatric Network (www.stpn.uk) was established in 2018, and is hosted by Evelina London Children’s Hospital, part of Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust. The Network works collaboratively with clinical teams, commissioners and other networks across South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. The region has 23 hospitals, 5 Integrated Care Systems and works with Specialised Commissioners for London and South England. Our vision is to ‘Improve healthcare for children and young people, together’ by ensuring that all children in the network have access to high quality specialist care at the appropriate time and place and by improving standardisation of care through agreed pathways, quality standards, governance and shared learning. Providing high quality education to a range of clinical MDT teams is a vital part of our role within our network region. Person specification Qualifications / Education Essential criteria Educated to first Degree with significant experience as senior manager in the NHS Evidence of Master’s degree, or other post graduate qualifications, or equivalent by virtue of experience. Desirable criteria Previous role in service improvement or operational experience above service manager level. Project Management qualification Previous experience Essential criteria Substantial NHS experience of facilitating and managing transformational change at a senior level within and across healthcare organisations, effectively working in Teams at both Project Management and Programme Management levels. Experience of working at senior management level in large complex environment Skills, knowledge and abilities Essential criteria Knowledge and experience of using and applying service improvement techniques including Lean and patient flow, the productive series, pathway process redesign and PDSA cycles. A proven ability to manage data and information effectively within a service improvement environment. Experience of working with and influencing senior management and clinicians. Experience of managing and monitoring financial resources and delivering projects within budget. Experience of problem solving and supporting others to develop this skill. Excellent communication skills and evidence of ability to motivate, negotiate, train, coach and reassure in a difficult or uncertain environment. User involvement.
