About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the college region, overseeing safeguarding issues affecting children and vulnerable adults. You will provide expert guidance and support to students and staff, engage with families to ensure their wellbeing, liaise closely with the Local Authority, and collaborate with external agencies to safeguard the college community. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all safeguarding activities is a key responsibility. This role is vital in promoting a safe and supportive environment for all learners.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience in safeguarding roles, preferably within education or social care settings.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, procedures, and best practices.
- Experience working with children and vulnerable adults.

About you
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with students, staff, families, and external agencies.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Committed to promoting the welfare and safety of children and vulnerable adults.
- Organised and able to maintain detailed and accurate records.

Qualifications
- Relevant safeguarding training and certification.
- Qualifications in education, social work, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
- Willingness to undertake further professional development as required.
