Description
Here at Capita Learning we have an exciting opportunity for two experienced Solution Architects to join our talented and knowledgeable team. Supporting the digital learning arena and specifically looking after the Royal Navy training project (Selborne) Project Selborne is a transformational training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training. It is the biggest and most exciting learning and development programme in the United Kingdom today and brings together many legacy contracts and in-house service provision into a single coherent training delivery mechanism with an initial value of circa £1 billion for the delivery of Naval Service Training across Royal Navy UK establishments. As prime contractor for Selborne, Capita will lead the 'Fisher' industrial consortium in delivering this exciting and challenging major programme over the next 12 years. You will be key part of the learning technology modernisation work stream, helping the Royal Navy to enhance their use of the Defence Learning Environment (DLE), a pan-defence system built on open source technology comprising Moodle, Mahara, Learning Locker and Alfresco. You will use your considerable expertise to define and design service improvements that can maximise the capabilities of the existing system covering areas such as course authoring, mobile access, content management, social learning, e-portfolios and data-driven personalisation. You will work closely with the Royal Navy and other defence teams to evolve the system to fit with the Royal Navy's future service needs. You will be highly experienced with Moodle and comfortable working with content managements systems such as Alfresco. What you'll be doing: • Working with a range of Navy stakeholders to improve their use of the DLE to support learning and learning management. • Identifying opportunities to improve student interaction and collaboration using Moodle activities and resources. • Encouraging the personalisation of learning. • Identifying opportunities for improvements to the underlying LMS and supporting requests for change through Defence Digital. • Analysing technical and business requirements, collaborating closely with the customer and other work stream members to create sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps and user stories. • Assisting with roll out of system changes including creation of training and roll out materials, stakeholder communications and providing support to user testing efforts. • Collaborating and forming relationships with key client stakeholders, providing regular reports and agile development outputs. • Operating within an agile methodology led project and team. What we're looking for: • You will be from a strong technology background - navigating implementation and technology challenges to deliver successfully. • Extensive experience and knowledge of Moodle for the building of great courses where improving the student experience is key. • Ideally familiarity with Alfresco or similar content management systems. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. • Self-motivated and enthusiastic - ability to work to tight deadlines, with minor or no supervision. • An understanding of the UK Defence sector would be desirable, but not essential. About Capita Learning: Capita Learning is a leader in Learning and Development Transformation.
