The role: Our Technical, Production and Costume Department plays a leading part in ensuring our performances are of the highest quality by delivering technical excellence for every performance, rehearsal, and event. We are now seeking to recruit a Duty Team Assistant Manager to work closely with all the production teams to ensure that activities, rehearsals and performances are carried out to the highest possible standard of safety, efficiency and quality. You will provide effective leadership and management of staff, working flexibly across Lighting and Stage disciplines. What you`ll bring: This role will suit a self-motivated candidate who has strong relationship management skills, is a clear communicator with a proactive approach to communication, and who has a strong team leadership ethic. You will be able to illustrate the ability to manage conflict and seek resolution with a collaborative approach to working. You will also be able to demonstrate: An excellent track record of team leadership in a major producing theatre.Substantial technical experience in a major producing theatre with either Stage or Lighting bias, preferably with experience in a large repertory house.An appreciation of both technical and aesthetic aspects of performance, demonstrating a broad range of technical skills and understanding.Qualifications and training in Lighting should be to BS7909 standard, or equivalent Stage (engineering, flying & rigging) training.An IOSH health and safety qualification with experience of working to CDM2015, with a demonstrable understanding of Health and Safety legislation relevant to theatre.Good understanding of AutoCAD. Experience of automated systems including flying and elevators is an advantage. A working knowledge of the opera and ballet repertoire and experience working with these are forms is not essential but will be well regarded.
