Electrical Technician
Location
Crossness - Abbey Wood, South East London - SE2 9AQ.
Hours
38 hours Monday-Friday, plus the inclusion of an out-of-hours Rota for which you will receive additional payment.
Salary
Up to £36,800 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role
We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Waste Team at Crossness STW. This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrical maintenance technician to join the second-largest STW in the UK. You will join a close-knit team which varies in age and ability, all performing at a high level. This role offers great learning potential with the ability to cross-skill into other disciplines. As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our sewage treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. Your responsibilities will include investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process, carrying out planned maintenance work on electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures, providing technical advice to the wider team, and using technical equipment such as various pumps, 3-phase motors, electronic control systems, and programmable logic controllers.
Experience
Considerable experience in electrical systems, with a time-served apprenticeship in the engineering sector, NVQ level 3 or greater in electrical engineering.
About you
You will have qualifications in BS7671 or 18th Edition electrical wiring regulations, experience in maintaining, testing, installing, and fault diagnosis on electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently, and experience with 3-phased systems. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety policies and processes are essential. The work will require physical fitness, as you will work in confined spaces with the successful completion of the appropriate training. Participation in a 24/7 out-of-hours standby rota will be required after a suitable period of training and assessment, for which you will receive additional payment. A full UK driving licence is essential.
