Job Title: Employment & Community Support Worker Reports to: Community Services Delivery Manager FTE: 37 hours per week. 1 FTE. We are looking for an experienced and friendly Employment & Community Support Worker who can support blind and partially sighted young people to achieve their goals and aspirations. As well supporting their future plans, you will be committed to working with young people and being part of a team who are passionate about making a difference for blind and partially sighted children and young people. The main purpose of this role is to: • Work with blind and partially sighted young people supporting them to set their goals and achieve outcomes for their future. This will include training, guidance, and pastoral support, tailored to each young person’s needs. • Design, plan and deliver activities for groups of blind and partially sighted children, young people and their families, including online and in person activities and groups, as well as residential and holiday programmes. The ideal candidate will have experience of employment support, ideally with young people and experience of working within the charity sector would be an advantage. You will likely have an employability or youth work qualification or demonstrable relevant experience. We are looking for someone who will work as part of a small, supportive team, delivering a range of services and activities for children and young people ensuring what we deliver has the most impact on young people’s futures. You do not need to have experience of working with blind or partially sighted people to apply.
