Description
Location: London Developments Department: People Reports to: Head of People Working for an organisation that builds homes and neighbourhoods across London, Birmingham, and the South of England. Specialising in brownfield regeneration, we transform underused land into sustainable, community-focused spaces where people from all backgrounds can thrive. Role Overview As Employment and Skills Advisor, you’ll lead the delivery of employment and skills initiatives, particularly those tied to Section 106 Employment & Skills Plans, ensuring local communities benefit from our projects. This role involves close collaboration with community stakeholders, education providers, and subcontractors while supporting apprentices and graduates in achieving their potential. Key Responsibilities Employment and Skills Plan: Develop and implement our Employment and Skills Plan. Manage relationships with community stakeholders, schools, colleges, universities, and the DWP. Lead local outreach efforts, attending career fairs and running events to promote opportunities. Community Engagement: Organise events and initiatives to foster social value and community involvement. Act as an ambassador, promoting values and strategic objectives. Data and Reporting: Provide accurate and timely data reporting for Employment and Skills targets. Supply evidence for Considerate Construction Scheme audits. Support Apprentices and Contractors: Offer pastoral care for apprentices and graduates. Collaborate with subcontractors to encourage apprenticeships and vocational training placements.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills Experience in a community-based role (e.g., Social Value Advisor, Community Investment Advisor, Employment & Skills Adviser). Proficient in MS Office applications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate. Self-motivated, passionate about social value, and capable of running events. Flexibility to attend meetings/events outside standard working hours occasionally.
