Environmental Operative – Street Scene Location: Thamesmead Salary: £25,333 per annum Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (35 hours per week) Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM About the Role Are you passionate about keeping outdoor spaces clean, safe, and welcoming? Peabody is looking for an Environmental Operative to maintain our estates, ensuring they remain a pleasant and well-kept environment for residents.

What You’ll Be Doing: ✔ Carry out general horticultural maintenance – weeding, pruning, and minor grounds upkeep ✔ Conduct estate cleaning duties – litter picking, graffiti removal, bulk waste clearance ✔ Use hand tools and mechanical horticultural equipment to maintain outdoor areas ✔ Work closely with colleagues to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service ✔ Ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed at all times

Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Previous experience in grounds maintenance, estate cleaning, or environmental services ✅ Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions ✅ Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations relevant to estate services ✅ Comfortable using hand tools and horticultural appliances ✅ Full UK driving licence (a company vehicle will be provided) Why Join Peabody? 30 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays Two paid volunteering days each year
