Description

First Story, England's leading creative writing charity, is looking for an experienced finance and operations manager to lead on all aspects of financial planning, management and reporting. You will work both strategically and operationally with our small, distributed team, helping the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that operations run effectively across the organisation.

This is a role that combines a strategic and operational 'hands on' approach, managing day-to-day financial transactions as well as producing monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, budget setting and reporting to the Board and its Finance Committee on a regular basis, including leading on the preparation of the statutory annual report and accounts. You will also be responsible for office management, including liaising with external IT support providers, ensuring that operational systems and processes are maintained and used effectively and maintaining up-to-date HR records.

Requirements

AAT bookkeeping qualificaiton - ideally Level 3 or 4 - or equivalent
Proven experience in a senior financial role
Experience of producing regular monthly management accounts on accruals basis
Experience of office management/HR
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
Excellent communciation skills
