Role purpose: The Head of Finance, Breakthrough Innovation is the finance business partner to the Global Breakthrough Innovation Director and the Breakthrough Innovation team. This role is primarily focused on decision support, business partnering, business model development, overall portfolio measurement, and supporting and managing Breakthrough budget spend. About Breakthrough Innovation: the Breakthrough innovation team focuses on innovation that is a fundamental change beyond Diageo’s existing capabilities and / or current consumer behavior. The team’s ambition is to create transformational value for the future of Diageo, consumers, and society Key Responsibilities: Business Model Definition & Development: Assess each Breakthrough Innovation project and define the appropriate business model from which the project will be assessed and measured Assess and quantify project impact: Once business model is defined, the Head of BI Finance will assess, quantify, and analyze potential impact from each project (including both financial and non-financial impacts). Support go / no-go recommendations for BI projects: The Head of BI Finance will play a critical role in providing input into the go / no-go decisions as projects move through their development lifecycle Measure and assess the total portfolio impact from BI: drive overall measurement of the BI portfolio of projects and spend, in addition to supporting on strategy & planning Support and manage BI budget spend: partner with the Breakthrough team on management of multi-million dollar budget spend Proformas: Develop proforma financial statements in support of Diageo Growth Ventures. Business model development Creation of pro-formal financial statements Budget management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong project management capabilities Strategic Thinking Ability to influence stakeholder with a wide variety of seniority and functional experience Ability to think creatively, deal effectively with ambiguity Ability to simplify complex information Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance required; advanced degree is a plus.
