Finance Officer
You will join the Trust at an exciting time as we deliver an ambitious capital project to expand our community, learning and volunteering offer by developing under-utilised areas of the estate to create new facilities adjacent to our beautiful kitchen garden, the heart of our community activity.
We are also working to generate new sources of income to ensure our financial sustainability. As a charity, we are 75% visitor and supporter funded and the finance team are at the heart of our efforts to ensure that we can continue as a going concern.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of the Trust's financial records using Xero. Your responsibilities will also include payroll, raising purchase orders, posting of supplier invoices and expenses to relevant ledgers, supplier payments, raising sales invoices, bank entries and reconciliations. You will also provide support to the Head of Finance.
Essential:
Experience in a finance or accounts role.
Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organisational, time management and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
Desirable:
Experience working in a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
AAT qualification or working towards one.
Knowledge of charity accounting principles and Gift Aid.
