Financial Accountant (Year-End) - 6 Month Fixed Term Salary £60,000 per annum + Benefits. Please note: We need people to be immediately available to undertake this position. The role – Financial Accountant (Year-End) As a Financial Accountant within Origin Housing, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate financial information. Your expertise in year-end processes will be essential for maintaining financial stability and transparency. What you’ll do Year-End Accounting: Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements and related notes. Assist with external auditors’ queries during the audit process. Financial Reporting: Assist in producing year-end accounts, reconciling financial transactions, preparation of balance sheet reconciliation and any ad hoc tasks required to support the year end process. Assist in preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with legal requirements. Financial Analysis and Consultation: Assist in the analytical review of the financial statements and related notes. Team Leadership and Communication: Foster good financial communication across the organization. Uphold group policies and practices. What you’ll need: We’re looking for someone who has: Professional Qualification: Qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Strong background in financial accounting, including year-end processes. Familiarity with housing association finance is essential. Proven experience in financial reconciliation, and financial reporting Attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel. Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
