About the Role

As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will be a key member of the fire safety team, assisting in the effective management of fire safety to reduce overall fire risk to residents and the business. You will ensure compliance with legislation and support the development of a strong fire safety culture across the organisation.
Your main responsibilities will include conducting fire risk assessments across Origin's housing portfolio, supporting the implementation of the fire risk management system, and delivering or arranging fire safety training for relevant staff. You will also provide technical advice and ensure all fire risk assessments meet required standards and KPIs. This role involves working closely with small teams of fire professionals and promoting fire safety procedures throughout the business.

Experience
- Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (minimum GIFireE) or Institute of Fire Safety Managers (minimum AIFSM) or equivalent
- Holding or working towards Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent (minimum Level 3 qualification and recognised fire risk assessment course)
- Membership of a Fire Risk Assessment professional register or third-party certification (e.g., IFE, IFSM, IFPO, Warrington)
- Up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation and relevant regulations
- Understanding of the Fire Sector Federation approved code of practice for fire risk assessors and competency requirements
- Knowledge of active and passive fire protection systems
- Experience working effectively in small teams of fire professionals
