About the Role
Origin Housing has a proud history of over 100 years providing high quality homes and support services to vulnerable communities in London and Hertfordshire. As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will be a key member of the fire safety team, responsible for managing and reducing fire risks across our housing portfolio. Your role will include conducting fire risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation, and supporting the implementation of our fire risk management system. You will help drive a strong fire safety culture across the business and contribute to staff training and competency development. This role requires close collaboration with fire professionals and other teams to maintain high standards of fire safety and protect residents and the organisation.
Experience
- Proven experience in fire risk assessment and fire safety management.
- Ability to work effectively within small teams of fire professionals.
- Up to date knowledge of fire safety legislation and relevant codes of practice.
- Familiarity with active and passive fire protection systems.
About you
- Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (minimum GIFireE) or Institute of Fire Safety Managers (minimum AIFSM) or equivalent.
- Holds or is working towards Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent (minimum Level 3 qualification and recognised fire risk assessment course).
- Registered with a professional fire risk assessment body or holds third-party certification (e.g. IFE, IFSM, IFPO, Warrington).
- Strong understanding of the Fire Sector Federation approved code of practice for fire risk assessors and competency requirements.
- Committed to promoting fire safety culture and supporting training needs across the business.
Qualifications
- Professional membership or certification as above.
- Relevant fire safety qualifications as detailed.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and competency maintenance.
