Job Title: Futures Coordinator (employability) Reports to: College Leadership Team FTE: 35 hours per week, term time + 2 weeks Location: Orpington Salary: £25,300-£30,000 FTE depending on skills and experience. We are looking for a futures coordinator to lead and coordinate employability at RSBC’s Dorton College. The main purpose of the role is to: • Implement and manage work experience placements or work-related learning for students • Deliver 1-1 and group sessions • Undertake risk assessments and visits to work placement and external companies with the aim of assessing suitability prior to placement. • Ensure all futures related paperwork including planning, tracking student staff and employer feedback is collated and reported on. • Provide information regarding students meeting their EHCP or college targets and objectives and contribute to designated elements of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework You will need to have a degree or equivalent relevant qualification as well as a minimum of a level 2 qualification on English and Maths. Candidates must have knowledge and understanding of the impact that vision impairment can have on wellbeing and strategies to help in overcoming this. experience in providing CIAG and delivering futures/employability sessions. Registered Charity No.307892 PERSON SPECIFICATION Educational or Professional Qualifications Essential: • A degree or equivalent/relevant level qualification. • Minimum of Level 2 Qualification in English and maths Desirable: • SEN/VI student experience • A nationally recognised CIAG qualification or similar • Or a recognised teaching qualification and willingness to gain CIAG Skills, Experience and Knowledge Essential 1. Knowledge and understanding of the impact that vision impairment can have on emotional wellbeing and strategies to help in overcoming this. 2. Knowledge and/or experience providing CIAG and delivering Futures sessions. 3. Knowledge of the requirements of inspection frameworks (Ofsted - Education Inspection Framework) and any other relevant legislation. 4. Demonstrable ability as a reflective practitioner with a commitment to continuous learning and development. 5. Use of IT packages that support learning and ability to provide resources in appropriate formats. 6. Knowledge and understanding of processes for student assessment, progress, evaluation and reporting of attainment. 7. Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. 8. Ability to think creatively and problem solve. Ability to plan, prepare and deliver learning activities ensuring individual needs are catered for. Desirable: 1. Experience of working with vision impaired young people across the age range. 2. Experience of working with young people with vision impairment and other learning needs and/or disabilities. 3. Ability and willingness to drive Society vehicles, as required.
