Job Summary The Corporate Support team is led by the CFO Finance Director and is located in a number of locations across the UK. The team is a supportive place to work, with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. The team is responsible for a wide range of activities including finance business partnering, financial analysis, business planning, performance reporting, and risk management. Reporting to the G6 Senior Finance Business Partner, you sit within Corporate Support team providing full financial support service to both the CFO directorates and our change programmes. This includes supporting Unity Business Services who provide Shared Services to HMRC, and from June 2024, a number of other government departments. We are looking for you to be comfortable engaging with leaders across all levels as you will have a key role supporting the UBS or Unity Programme Director and their SLT. You may also be supporting various boards, other G6 Senior Managers, and the CFO Finance Director. You need to be able to confidently contribute at a senior level by ensuring that finance is at the heart of any decision-making, to improve any business outcomes. The work you’ll do ensures strong financial control and robust governance in like with HMRC and HMG principles. One thing we want you to constantly be thinking about as our Finance Business partner, is “are we getting good value for money for our taxpayers”. Here are some things you could be doing in this role: Building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships with a wide range of senior leaders and colleagues. Supporting senior leaders in understanding their finances, helping them make sound financial and business decisions, and adding value through constructive challenge. Ensuring accurate and timely financial and workforce forecasting by the business. Leading on robust variance analysis, detailed financial reporting, and on annual and multi-year budgeting. Supporting and challenging the development of investment appraisals and business cases. Preparing and presenting complex financial information clearly and succinctly. Act as a leader and role model as part of Corporate Support’s SLT. Line managing and supporting the development of more junior Finance Business Partners. Supporting the G6 and wider Unity Business Services Finance Business Partner and benefits team on work supporting other customers as required.
