Location: 163 Eversholt Street, London NW1 1BU. Occasional travel to AET schools is encouraged, plus hybrid working Salary: £45,000-£50,000 + AET Wellbeing Cash Plan + Pension Scheme LGPS + Additional AET Benefits Hours: 37 hours a week, 52.14 weeks per year With 57 schools, AET is one of the country's largest multi-academy trusts. Good governance is a fundamental element of all good schools, and this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the highest standards of progressive governance across a leading national Educational Trust with 57 academies and over 33,000 pupils. As part of AET's localism strategy, each of the Trust's schools must have an effective and representative Academy Council. This is a key element of strong governance and is critical to the delivery of school improvement and to support the best outcomes for pupils. The primary focus of the Academy Council Lead is to promote and manage relationships with each of AET's Academy Councils. Excellent teaching and learning do not happen in a vacuum. The family home, immediate neighbourhood and wider local area all contribute to the educational experience of each pupil. Each school plays a central role in its local community. Positive relationships with parents, staff and the broader community are the keys to an effective school and no school can truly be high performing without these relationships. Consequently the success of the Academy Council Lead role will be measured by the extent to which they can: Promote, monitor and provide evidence of the effectiveness of these relationships Strengthen the relationship between the Academy Council (especially its Chair) and the Trust We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and demonstrable skills in relationship management, along with general experience or appreciation of education governance. Depending on their existing skills and development pathway, the Academy Council Lead will be expected to support other areas of governance team responsibility. The role is ideal for individuals with previous educational governance experience but equally is an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking to learn and develop their career in an area that sits at the heart of the education sector. You will be joining the leading inclusive educational trust in the country - one where you have more opportunities to forge your own path, where your work is truly valued and where you will receive the recognition and rewards to motivate you to build on your achievements.
