About the Role
The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) is more than just a trade union; we are a community of over half a million nurses, midwives, nursing support workers, and students dedicated to making a positive difference in the working lives of our members and the standards of patient care. As the Head of Leadership, you will leverage your expertise in nursing leadership and clinical practice to deliver the RCN Professional offer across the Institute of Nursing Excellence. You will design and implement a portfolio of leadership programmes aimed at supporting nurses at all career stages in developing their leadership skills. Your role will involve building resources in mentorship, supporting early-career nurses, and fostering a leadership network to encourage dialogue and debate. You will also ensure that the work of the Leadership Academy is evidence-based and up to date, utilizing your skills in data analysis and stakeholder engagement. Exceptional customer service and a deep understanding of nursing leadership, commissioning, and policy development across health and social care in the UK are essential for this role.
Experience
In-depth knowledge of nursing leadership, commissioning, and policy development across health and social care within the UK.
About you
You are a proactive leader with the ability to foster strong professional relationships and encourage collaboration between departments, members, and stakeholders. You possess excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards change.
Qualifications
A relevant qualification in nursing or a related field is preferred, along with significant experience in leadership roles within the healthcare sector.
