Introduction
The Parliamentary Security Department (PSD) is responsible for physical and personnel security across both Houses of Parliament and provides support to Members and staff when away from the Estate. Its purpose is to keep Parliament safe and open for business.
PSD sets security strategy provides expert advice and delivers an operational service. It does this in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and by working closely with the Parliamentary Estates Teams, Serjeant at Arms and Black Rod's office, Restoration & Renewal teams, the Parliamentary Digital Service, and other key stakeholders.
The Role
In this role, you will be supporting the development of our people, and building the skills and capabilities required to deliver Parliamentary Security now and into the future. As the Head of People Capability, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a strategic, coherent approach to people development activity in PSD, supporting our senior leaders to deliver on our people activity.
You will take a leading role in shaping and embedding the people aspects of PSD teams, supporting activities relating to learning and development, Inclusion and Diversity, recruitment and HR reporting. Collaborating closely with the PSD Culture and Communications Team and colleagues across the wider House.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
Working with the PSD Leadership team and the People and Culture Team (PACT), lead PSD's people function as the expert in learning & development and diversity & inclusion to deliver and embed people initiatives.
Lead on developing and delivering initiatives to reduce the Ethnicity Pay Gap - with a focus on development pathways into management.
Responsible for building PSD's manager capability and community, leading on identifying manager development pathways working with PACT.
Develop and manage data reporting on the employee life cycle and analyse data to measure impact of organisational changes and people development interventions.

Analysis and Reporting - Strong analytical skills to meaningfully analyse and interpret relevant people data.
