The Health & Safety Manger is responsible for the organization's Health and Safety policies and procedures in order to meet organizational objectives and governmental regulations. You will form a key part of the HSE Team supporting the Business Unit health functions which require HSE input, actively supporting Capita's sites and home workers, and prioritising the focus on the wellbeing, health and safety of our team, our service users, and others. Flexibility for 40% travel across Capita locations(UK wide) is essential in this role. What you'll be doing : • accountable for all Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and Environmental (HSE) related activities within your respective Business Unit as directed by the HSE Sector Lead. • ensuring that all sites and field workers within your Business Unit are compliant with all HSE requirements. • work closely with your Business Unit Senior Leadership Team to raise awareness of HSE. • manage HSE Champions to ensure implementation and sustainment of the Capita HSE Policy, HSE Standard and HSE Management System. • ensure appropriate reporting and investigation of all Tier 1, 2, and 3 events. • communicate the HSE Policy, HSE Standard and HSE Management System to the appropriate levels within your Business Unit, ensuring all positions are aware of their responsibilities for all HSE requirements. • undertake site assurance events and raise corrective actions, tracking to completion, to ensure implementation and sustainment against the company HSE Management System. • prepare and disseminate appropriate HSE reports for the HSE Sector Lead, your Business Unit Senior Leadership Team, line managers and employees. • ensure CASPER is updated regularly and ensure HSE requirements are completed in a timely manner. • be an active member of the Sector BU HSE Lead meetings completing tasks directed from the HSE Sector Lead. • provide updated HSE KPI metrics to the HSE Sector Lead with improvement plans as necessary and disseminate to your business unit. • hold regular meetings with HSE Champions to ensure compliance to HSE KPI's. • be part of the documented HSE Escalation process and adhere to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) as depicted in section 10 of the HSE Standard. • Other HSE related tasks as directed by the HSE Sector Lead. What we're looking for: • NEBOSH Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety ( Diploma is highly desirable.) • Excellent motivational and influencing skills. • Self-starter with the ability to prioritise and work on a wide range of activities within a high-pressure environment. • Ability to effectively respond to complex enquiries or complaints from clients, line management and supply chain. • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. • Flexibility to travel 20-40% across UK Capita locations.
