About the Role
An experienced Hairdressing/Barbering Lecturer position is available within United Colleges Group. The successful candidate will be passionate about raising achievement by motivating, challenging, and inspiring students. You will deliver highly effective teaching, learning, and assessment to support students in reaching their full potential and making positive progress towards timely achievement, further study, and employment.

You will educate students across various levels and courses, ranging from Level 1 to Level 3, with responsibilities including lesson planning and preparation, assessment, exam preparation, and continuous student support to develop their knowledge and skills.

Expert knowledge of the curriculum area is essential and may be supplemented by relevant industry or professional experience, along with a formal certificate supporting this knowledge. Experience working with all hair types is required.

We welcome applications from skilled hair and beauty practitioners. Our department is expanding, and we are preparing to open a brand-new state-of-the-art salon in central London by September 2025. We provide support for those interested in teaching, including an in-house teaching qualification to help you pass on your skills to new students.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in hairdressing and barbering with the ability to work with all hair types. Experience in teaching or training is desirable but not essential as support and qualifications can be provided.

About you
Passionate about education and student success, motivated to inspire and challenge learners. Skilled in lesson planning, assessment, and student support. Enthusiastic about working in a growing department and contributing to a new salon environment.

Qualifications
Relevant formal certificate in hairdressing/barbering or equivalent professional qualification. Willingness to undertake an in-house teaching qualification if not already qualified to teach.
