About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organised professional to join our busy housing office environment. You will play a key role in meeting and improving housing needs in the borough as part of the wider integrated Housing Options & Private Sector Team. You will be passionate about customer service excellence and contribute significantly to our vision of becoming the best Housing Team in Kent.

Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out the Council’s responsibilities to customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness under its statutory duties
- Taking an innovative approach to preventing and relieving homelessness
- Assessing housing needs, identifying support needs, and working with partner agencies to bring about real improvements to people’s lives
- Writing detailed and legally sound decision letters in accordance with relevant legislation

Experience
Experience in housing support and inclusion with an understanding of the local authority’s duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act.

About you
- Confidence, enthusiasm, and a flexible approach
- Excellent administration skills, numeracy skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Good keyboard skills and proven ability to learn and utilise new software
- Strong customer care skills
- Ability to discuss sensitive issues calmly with customers
- Full driving licence and use of a car are essential

Qualifications
5 GCSEs (Grade C (4) or above) or equivalent, including English and Mathematics
