Come join the world of Financial Management at the BRC! We are looking for a programme accountant to support our International Emergencies Services and Technical Advisory Department (ESTA). You'll provide essential services such as financial management, training, due diligence, and support to finance staff and offices overseas. Your expertise will extend beyond borders as you support some UK based International Directorate teams as well! Your purpose in this role is clear: provide comprehensive financial management support to the International programs, partners, offices, and staff. Additionally, you'll extend your expertise to nominated Global Teams, making a global impact with your financial know-how. What will a day in the life of a Programme Accountant look like? You'll be the finance contact for the region through planning, budgeting and forecasting You'll analyse, interpret and report on consolidated budgets, assessing the implications and recommending possible courses of action You'll provide meaningful regional and global team analysis on financial performance You'll work to provide managers with knowledgeable, proactive advice and guidance on financial issues. You'll ensure they have a clear understanding of the financial framework and the delegations within the International Directorate You'll work closely with the ESTA team to process grant agreements, grant transfers, and international invoice payments You'll conduct financial due diligence reviews of Partner National Societies and programmes in collaboration with any non-UK based BRC finance staff. You'll ensure that key financial risks are identified, and clear recommendations given on how to deal with areas of weaknesses identified To be a successful Programme Accountant, you'll need: Strong audit and internal controls knowledge with the ability to highlight weaknesses and make appropriate recommendations Ability to assimilate complex financial and written information quickly and accurately Strong analytical and reporting skills Experience of developing financial systems to support international operations Experience of supporting the financial elements of institutional donor programme Experience of working with international programmes Experience of different accounting systems Experience of foreign currency monitoring and accounting CCAB qualified accountant In return for your dedication and expertise, you'll get: Holidays: 36 days annual leave (including bank holidays) + option to buy 5 extra days.
