About the role
The UCL Energy Institute (EI) is recruiting a Lecturer in Energy, Environmental Resources and Sustainability. The successful candidate will significantly strengthen our research and teaching capacity at the intersection of energy, environmental resources and sustainability. A strong background in resource economics, environmental management and resource productivity, sustainability analysis, determinants of energy and resource productivity, use of a range of quantitative methods, and data analysis is essential. Experience in different aspects of material flow accounting, renewable energy, understanding and predicting materials flow to assessing the impacts of economic activities on resource use and sustainability, energy transition will be an advantage. In addition to developing a research agenda in collaboration with colleagues, the successful candidate will contribute to our MSc and BSc programs by teaching environmental economics, resources and sustainability. About you
You will have extensive knowledge on environmental economics and sustainability, with a strong background in resource economics, environmental management and sustainability analysis, renewable energy, resource productivity, determinants of energy and resource productivity, quantitative methods and data analysis. Experience in energy and resource productivity in developed and developing countries will be an advantage, as well as experience in many of the following methods: application in material flow accounting including panel data models, VAR models, GMM models, instrumental variables, network modelling, network representation, flow analysis, supply chain networks, life-cycle based analysis of the energy and material resources, statistical software, will be an advantage. You will have a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field, and a track record of research excellence and publications in high quality journals. You will be experienced in delivering postgraduate taught modules on topics related to environmental economics and sustainability. You will also have excellent communication skills, and be able collaborate across a range of disciplines and stakeholders, including businesses, policy makers, and civil society.
