The Vacancy
Southwark College, part of NCG (a leading national provider of education and training) is looking to recruit an ESOL lecturer to teach on ESOL courses. Based at our Southwark College site, close to Waterloo Station, the successful candidates will be part of a large ESOL team, responsible for facilitating the linguistic development, empowerment and integration of a diverse community of ESOL adult learners. We have excellent resources and a modern suite of classrooms.
The main duties of the post holder are:
· To teach ESOL 16 - 18 years old students using a variety of teaching methods and tools.
· To contribute to the review, planning and development of the ESOL curriculum at Southwark College
· To work with the ESOL team to develop Schemes of Learning, lesson plans, teaching materials and immersive experiences
· To work with the ESOL team to devise and implement a range of assessment for learning strategies.
· To assess student work and provide a variety of feedback to support learners to develop their skills and maximise their potential.
· To contribute to the ESOL strategies to improve student achievement and retention.
