About the Role
Working flexible shifts at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, you will collaborate closely with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of care for patients of all ages with both benign and malignant haematological conditions. You will be a key clinical and educational support for junior Haematologists.

As a Haematology Consultant, you will divide your time between the ward, outpatient clinic, and laboratory, frequently attending other specialty areas including high dependency and intensive care units. Working alongside a dynamic and motivated team of consultants with critical subspecialty interests, you will provide advisory and consultancy services to hospital specialists and general practitioners.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, and management of patient care including preoperative, operative, and postoperative phases.
- Support patients and their families by communicating clinical information clearly to explain diagnoses and treatment options.
- Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe appropriate therapies.
- Monitor patient progress and provide ongoing care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on shared patient decision making.
- Lead or participate in multidisciplinary teams as appropriate.
- Assess and prioritize patient needs, delegating tasks effectively.
- Recognize, review, and report changes in patient conditions.
- Perform administrative duties such as record keeping, writing prescriptions, and monitoring treatment plans.
- Conduct research to develop and test techniques and equipment to improve clinical outcomes.
- Teach and train junior doctors, medical students, and other multidisciplinary team members.

Experience
- Relevant experience at Consultant level or references supporting transition to Consultant level
- Ideally previous NHS experience

Qualifications
- GMC registered Doctor with license to practice (Specialist Register not required)
- Evidence of stand-alone Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
- Ability to pass an enhanced criminal background check (DBS)
