We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our waste team, as the Management Systems Development Manager based at our largest sewage treatment site Beckton. This exciting opportunity will give you the chance to be a key part of our Tideway Tunnel Project, the Thames Tideway Tunnel, which is a 25km-long sewage tunnel designed to dramatically reduce sewage pollution in the central London River Thames. What you’ll be doing as the Management Systems Development Manager Your role will be to develop, implement and maintain the London Tideway Tunnels (LTT) Integrated Management System (IMS), guaranteeing quality. Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems are by the required industry standards (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001). Ensuring that Quality and Environmental management system requirements are embedded in operating practices and that Thames Water is compliant with our legal and regulatory obligations including UK Environment Agency guidelines. Base Location: Hybrid – Beckton Sewer Treatment Works, IG11 0AD. Working Pattern or hours: 36 hours Monday - Friday. Other Key responsibilities include: - Responsible for the development, maintenance, and implementation of the London Tideway Tunnel Integrated Management System - Verifying implementation of the quality and environmental programmes/plans across the London Tideway Tunnel Operation. - Direct quality and environmental management activities, communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure management goals and objectives are met. - To manage the London Tideway Tunnels Integrated Management System ensuring best practice processes and procedures are being used, supporting compliance with regulations and environmental permits, as well as looking for ways to make improvements. - Provide training/awareness on London Tideway Tunnel quality and environmental management systems for London Tideway Tunnel personnel to ensure the management systems are embedded in Operations. - Lead, manage and coordinate management reviews and internal/external audits, including preparation and execution of the London Tideway Tunnels Integrated Management System audit programme. Use results to improve systems and compliance. - Help in defining quality and environmental objectives and metrics (KPI), ensure reporting is in place, analyse performance, and propose corrective or improvement actions and reports. - Work alongside internal and external stakeholders to ensure Tideway’s Programme Integrated Management System is in place and maintained by Tideway. - Provide technical support for the drafting of key documents, as required. - Support the department by liaising or attending meetings with key internal and external stakeholders, as required. - Promote a culture of zero-incident, zero harm and zero compromises. Undertake safety observations when on site. What you should bring to the role - Relevant business or technical experience in the water industry. - Degree / Post-graduate level education (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. - Professional qualification in management systems, audit, and asset management such as Member of CQI, ICRA qualified Auditor and Member of IAM. - Must have an excellent working knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001 and EA guidelines. - High attention to detail. - Experience in the development and maintenance of effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. - Experience in supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours. - Proactive approach.
