About the Role
Reporting to the Programme Manager, SCL Education Group is a leading post-16 further education provider specialising in high-quality education inspired through sport. With over 20 years of experience, we are dedicated to setting the standard for sports education and supporting young people to unlock their potential.
We are seeking an inspiring Management Trainer to deliver exceptional teaching, learning, and assessment on our Level 5 Coaching Professional apprenticeships. You will manage a caseload of up to 45 learners, supporting them to exceed their targets through engaging delivery, personalised feedback, and tailored support.
Your responsibilities will include managing learner retention, achievement, and timely completions; delivering innovative teaching sessions aligned with programme requirements; preparing learners for End Point Assessment (EPA); and supporting learners through coaching, mentoring, and reflective practice.
Additionally, you will design and continuously improve coaching and leadership resources, embed coaching models and mentoring approaches, and ensure teaching reflects current sector trends. You will maintain accurate learner records, ensure compliance with ESFA and awarding body requirements, and contribute to quality improvement planning.
Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with the Quality team, colleagues, and employers to maximise learner success and represent SCL at events and networking activities.
Professional development is encouraged, with opportunities to engage in CPD and training to stay current with sector developments and best practices.
Experience
- Strong experience in leadership and management
- Occupational competence and experience in professional leadership/management delivery
- Proven ability to engage and motivate learners
- Experience delivering apprenticeships (desirable)
- Experience in delivering Level 3 Team Leader Supervisor and Level 5 Operations Departmental Manager (desirable)

Qualifications
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence and access to own car
- Assessing qualification (CAVA or equivalent) (desirable)
- IQA qualification (desirable)
- Knowledge of Ofsted EIF and apprenticeship funding compliance (desirable)
- Experience using OneFile e-portfolio system (desirable)
- Level 5 Management qualification (desirable)
