Our tech platform ‘Kraken’ is already licensed to support 50 million customer accounts globally, and we aim to serve 100 million by 2027. Octopus’ cloud software technology platform Kraken Tech offers utility clients end-to-end customer management through one simple solution aimed at helping utilities and their customers transition into a decarbonised future. We’re currently charging our platform to serve the water and broadband industries and have created a new team; Kraken Utilities. This team has already signed 4 clients; Severn Trent, Leep, Portsmouth Water, and Cuckoo. We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Intern to join our team for a 10-week internship. This role is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to gain hands-on experience in building a brand communication strategy for a pioneering software company. The role will allow a high level of autonomy, so we are looking for someone who is a self-starter and can work proactively. We are aiming for a university graduate to start early September. Our aim will be to have you coming into our London office 3-4 times a week to collaborate with the team in person. What you'll do: Brand Communication Strategy: Assist in developing a comprehensive brand communication strategy that aligns with Kraken Utilities' mission and goals. This includes identifying key messaging, target audiences, and effective channels to enhance our brand presence. Enhancing Brand Presence: Work closely with the marketing team to create and execute initiatives that strengthen Kraken Utilities' brand in the water industry. This will involve creating and curating content that resonates with our target audience and supports our brand identity. Thought Leadership: Contribute to the creation of thought leadership pieces that position Kraken Utilities as an industry leader. This could include writing articles, developing case studies, and engaging with industry influencers to elevate our profile. Market Research: Conduct research to stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and customer insights. Use this data to inform marketing strategies and ensure our messaging remains relevant and impactful. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside various teams within Kraken Technologies and the wider Octopus Energy Group to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging across all platforms and channels. What you'll need: We’re looking for someone who has recently completed a University degree. Previous marketing experience is a big bonus. Someone who is available to work 5 days a week for 10 weeks. A passion for sustainability and renewable energy, a love for problem-solving, an eye for detail and an interest in trying new things.
