MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL ENGINEER Location: Greenwich Working Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week Salary: £38,000 This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments. We have an opportunity for a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join our Hard Services team as part of our contract with Greenwich Schools. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm. Job Outline: As a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer you will work with the Hard Service’s team to ensure that the Mechanical and Engineering Facilities Management Service Agreement, undertaken by G4S for their Client, Greenwich Schools PFI, is of the standards required and expected as outlined within the contract terms. You will assist in providing a high level of expertise within the contract at Greenwich, adhering to company policies and procedures and Health & Safety requirements at all times. Key Responsibilities: Work with the Hard Services Manager to assist in the delivery of the Maintenance Service in line with the contracted agreement and to ensure the delivery of service is undertaken within the allocated timescales and budgetary targets. Assist in the monitoring of the WIP (Work In Progress) to ensure job closures. Ensure that all M&E Statutory Compliance records are kept and are ready for inspection when requested through periodic auditing. Maintain a high level of site Health and Safety throughout the workplace. Report any accidents and near misses through the Integrator system. Assist in the monitoring of all Visitors/Contractors whilst under the management of G4S. Review all maintenance breakdowns and assist/advise in the obtaining of quotations to rectify and repair works when requested. Ensure the safe custody of keys, fobs and access cards as entrusted. Carry out Plant Room and Work Area audits. Work proactively with the Hard Services Manager in the reduction of current maintenance work that is sub contracted, to evaluate where savings can be made. Essential Criteria: NVQ or equivalent qualification within the Building/Maintenance industry. At least 5 years experience within the building/maintenance industry and gave a good M&E working background with a similar trade background. HVAC in building maintenance. Knowledge of AHU and fan coil units. Experienced understanding of Commercial and FM Plan Preventative Maintenance methods. Good working knowledge of Facilities Management maintenance activities. Good Problem Solving Skills. Ability to communicate with people at all levels. Good working knowledge of Maintenance activities. Knowledge of the requirements to meet statutory requirements. Understanding the planned preventative maintenance methods. IT literate with the ability to use Chrome, Google and email. Desirable Criteria: Previous experience in a Facilities Management engineering role. Experience within PFI school contracts. Reliable track record in Electrical and Mechanical engineering. Experience in the use and operation of BMS (Trend 963, Trend IQ4 Vision). Benefits: Company pension scheme with employer contributions. G4S Life Assurance Scheme.
