Media Manager

Salary
Up to £50,000 (DOE), plus £6,600 company car/allowance and up to 20% bonus scheme
About the Role

You will be instrumental in delivering the media strategy for Veolia UK, finding, shaping and telling compelling stories about sustainability, innovation and positive environmental impact. The role will work directly with the Head of External Communications as well as senior leaders across our business to craft and deliver powerful narratives about our people, our solutions and our impact. This covers research opportunities, partnerships and thought leadership content. You'll build and nurture relationships with key journalists as well as experts within our business to create engaging content that brings what can sometimes be complex processes to life. You'll work on campaigns to build and enhance Veolia's reputation as well as identifying media opportunities on evolving issues and providing media response and issues management support. Veolia UK & Ireland has so many stories to tell and we're looking for an experienced communicator to bring these to life across trade, national and broadcast media. Working closely with the internal communications team and the wider corporate affairs team, this Media Manager role will cover ground-breaking technological advances, comment on environmental policy legislation, champion our Resourcers as they help achieve our purpose of Ecological Transformation and more.
Experience
Previous experience in media relations.
About you
Strong storytelling abilities and excellent written communication skills. Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience of working with and briefing executive level leaders on media relations. The ability to nurture long-term relationships with key media influencers. Experience in translating technical concepts into compelling narratives is desired. The ability to work autonomously, with strong decision-making and attention to detail. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in communications, media, or a related field are preferred.
