We are on the hunt for a National sales manager, deeply embedded in the pathology laboratory sales, renowned for steering high-value deals to closure. This role is anchored in Synnovis Group, our corporate support core encompassing Executive Management, Finance, HR, and Commercial Services. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a national sales strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives. Mentor and lead a team of BDMs, a Key Account Manager, and a Transition Lead to ensure they meet their individual and team targets. Team Management and Development: Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of the sales and transition team. Ensure each team member has clear objectives, development plans, and the resources needed to succeed. Sales Growth: Drive the growth of pathology service sales across the country by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing key accounts, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including decision-makers and procurement teams in the healthcare sector. Ensure the team provides exceptional support and communication to customers. Transition and Onboarding: Oversee the customer transition process to ensure a high-quality experience for new clients transitioning to our services. Work closely with the Transition Lead to monitor service delivery levels and process improvements. Market Analysis and Reporting: Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges. Generate accurate reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market insights to inform strategic decisions. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Oversee contract negotiations, renewals, and compliance. Maintain a high standard of data management and integrity within the Salesforce CRM. Contract Management and MI Data Review: Handle contract negotiations, renewals, and adherence to terms. Organise regular meetings with accounts to discuss Management Information (MI) data, responding to their feedback and requirements. Salesforce CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date data entry in Salesforce. Produce regular reports on account activities, sales pipeline, and forecasts. Collaborate with the CRM team to improve Salesforce functionalities. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Job Summary The Medical diagnostics National Sales Manager oversees the sales and business development operations across the UK & Ireland, leading a team of Business Development and Key account Managers together with a service transition team. This role is instrumental in driving national sales strategies, enhancing customer relationships, achieving sales targets, and ensuring smooth transitions and onboarding for new business. Currently our offices are based in Paris Garden, Blackfriars SE1, or Francis House, Southwark SE1 however at present these are temporary locations. We expect to move to new offices in the Hub building located in Blackfriars in 2024. Synnovis is a pathology partnership between SYNLAB UK and Ireland, and the NHS, including sites, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, to deliver and transform pathology services across South East London. The partnership provides services to 1.7 million people living in South East London, as well as to hundreds of thousands of patients from outside the region who use local healthcare services. The partnership provides diagnostics, testing and digital pathology for hospital trusts, GP services and other healthcare providers. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Bachelor’s Degree in a related healthcare field Desirable criteria Master’s Degree or MBA in Business or Sales Management Qualifications Essential criteria Minimum of 5 years in healthcare or pathology service sales, with 3 years in a leadership role Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets Experience in managing a sales team, including BDMs and Key Account Managers Desirable criteria Hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM and familiarity with the Miller Heiman sales methodology Skills & Knowledge Essential criteria Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills Advanced presentation skills and proficiency in MS Office Ability to manage complex accounts and navigate contractual negotiations Strategic thinker with an aptitude for long-term planning Knowledge of current trends and innovations in pathology services Applications are welcomed from applicants with a disability.
