National Society Finance Development Manager Job Location: UK Flexible Salary: £52,262 to £54,320 per annum based on 35 hours per week. Contract Type: Permanent Are you passionate about connecting human kindness with international humanitarian development? We're on the hunt for a dynamic and talented National Society Finance Development Manager to join our exciting new team! Could you be at the forefront of designing and implementing sustainable strategies that will shape the skill development and knowledge transfer to our national society partners? You will provide support to the BRC national societies and overseas branches (OSB) team on all aspects of financial management including regulatory and donor compliance requirements. You will have extensive travel to the region and you will support the British Red Cross to have effective and efficient financial management structure, processes, controls, and systems in our global team. This position aims to build the financial capability of the national societies and overseas branches. You will ensure that the finance functions of each area can continue to develop in an independent and sustainable manner. A day in the life of a National Society Finance Development Manager will involve: Work internationally with teams located in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Caribbean in an agile and flexible manner. To provide guidance and support to our National Societies and Overseas Branches so that they comply with finance minimum standards. Monitor progress on finance minimum standards and provide regular updates. Provide ad hoc support on financial matters around financial policy writing and best practice. Develop innovative and sustainable means of building financial capability where required. Ensure there is sufficient financial oversight and provide support where needed. Propose and support the implementation of improved financial management controls and processes. Provide meaningful analysis and insight on financial performance and contribute to the society's approach to innovation and insight. Ensure that the planning and budget process are completed within the agreed organisational timetable and procedures. Carry out oversight and routine reporting of OSB restricted funds as required. To be a successful National Society Finance Development Manager, you'll need: Sound knowledge of Charity SORP Strong financial control and accounting skills with an ability to highlight control weaknesses and make recommendations Financial modelling ability & advanced Microsoft Office skills Proven experience driving change and improvement in previous roles. Experience of working in an analytical capacity supporting non-technical decision makers. Experience working in or closely with finance functions.
