About the Role
The Highways Team at the London Borough of Havering is seeking a Network and Contract Compliance Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity in a newly created role. The primary responsibilities include ensuring contractor and developer compliance through inspections, monitoring, audits, and overseeing works activities on the borough's highway network. Key duties include monitoring construction work to ensure compliance with specified standards, inspecting materials and workmanship, identifying defects, maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, ensuring health and safety regulations are followed, and managing traffic arrangements on-site. You will also be responsible for inspecting licensed works and communicating effectively with contractors and other stakeholders.

Experience
Experience in monitoring and compliance within a highways or construction environment is preferred.

You should possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance are essential.

Qualifications
A relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is desirable. Additional certifications related to health and safety or traffic management would be advantageous.
